Usage

Rayeh nergod is a very common phrase for announcing that you are going to bed. It is said late in the evening, with family or friends, and is also written at the end of a messaging conversation. Rayeh is a participle meaning "going". Followed by an imperfect verb, it expresses a near future, like "to be going to" + verb in English. It agrees with the speaker: rayha for the feminine, rayhin for the plural (rayhin nergdou). It is often preceded by rani: rani rayeh nergod. In many regions, the letter q is pronounced g, hence nergod rather than narqod.
