7ta 7aja حتى حاجة
Moroccan Darija · expression
“7ta 7aja” (حتى حاجة) is an expression in Moroccan Darija meaning nothing (with negation).
Meanings
- nothing (with negation)
- anything at all
Usage
A very common expression, literally "not even one thing". With a negation, it means "nothing at all": ma bghit 7tta 7aja, ma fhemt 7tta 7aja. It is more emphatic than chi 7aja and comes close to walo, which can also be used on its own as an answer. In a question, it means "anything at all": wach khassek 7tta 7aja? The pitfall: without a negation, in an affirmative sentence, the expression is not used. The register is colloquial and neutral.
Example
ما بغيت حتى حاجة، شكرا
ma bghit 7tta 7aja, choukran
“I don't want anything, thanks.”
