Usage
Fayda refers to the usefulness or benefit one gets from something. The negative form is very common: ma fihch fayda (it's no use, it's pointless), or wach men fayda? (what's the point?). One also says fih fayda kbira (it's very useful). In a financial context, lfayda refers to the interest on a loan, often seen as religiously problematic. The register is common and neutral.
