Meanings

- I wonder, who knows
Usage
Ya dra introduces a question addressed to oneself, like "I wonder if" or "who knows". It often precedes an indirect question: ya dra wach sra, "I wonder what happened". It can also express a wish mixed with uncertainty, in the sense of "I hope that". The tone is often dreamy or worried, and the expression readily appears in songs and expressive speech. It should not be confused with a real question put to someone: the speaker expects no answer.
