- sunset
Usage
ghroub is used almost only in the expression ghroub ech-chams, "the sunset". It is mainly used for the spectacle itself, for example a photo or a seaside outing. To refer to the time of day, one says rather el moghreb: "nji m3a el moghreb", "I'm coming at dusk". During Ramadan, it is also el moghreb that marks the breaking of the fast. The corresponding verb is ghrbet ech-chams, "the sun has set". The register is neutral, slightly more refined than el moghreb.
