Meanings

  1. tactfully, gently

Usage

Bessyassa literally means "with politics". In darja, the expression means "with tact": you handle someone with gentleness, kindly cunning or compromise, rather than force or confrontation. It often goes with verbs like dir, khdem or edda: "eddih bessyassa", "handle him diplomatically". It is common when talking about dealing with a relative, a boss or a delicate situation. It is close to "bel3a9el" (with wisdom). Note: the political meaning does not disappear, and depending on the context the word can also refer to politics in the literal sense.
