Usage
Ykharret is a very common, informal verb in the intensive form. It means making up stories, exaggerating or talking nonsense, without necessarily being a serious lie. It is often constructed with 3la: ykharret 3lina, "he's feeding us a line". In the negative imperative, ma tkharretch means "stop talking nonsense". The noun kherrat (or kharrat) refers to a fabulist, and one also says kharti for a made-up story. The tone ranges from teasing to accusation. The word is also common for mocking someone who talks without knowing what they're talking about.
