Usage
Jomhour refers to all the people who follow a show, a broadcast, a match or an online channel. The word comes from literary Arabic but is common in darja, especially in media, sport and on social networks, where content creators address "their" jomhour. It is also used for a club's supporters. It readily takes a possessive (jomhourek, jomhourna) or an adjective (jomhour kbir, jomhour 3arbi). It is not a purely informal word, but it is not formal in speech either. It does not mean "the public" in the administrative sense of the State.
