kaka كاكا

Algerian Darja · noun

“kaka” (كاكا) is a noun in Algerian Darja meaning poo (baby talk).

Meanings

  1. poo (baby talk)
  2. yucky, dirty, don't touch

Usage

Kaka is a word from children's language, identical to French "caca". Parents use it with small children to mean excrement, and above all to forbid touching or putting something dirty in their mouth: "kaka!" is then enough as a warning. It is also used as an adjective or exclamation to signal what is dirty. Between adults, it remains childish or jokey and is not rude. The crude terms for excrement are different and much more vulgar. Avoid this word in formal contexts.
