Usage
Mdir, or moudir in a more careful pronunciation, refers to the head of an institution or administration. Most often it means a school principal, frequently called "lmdir". It is also heard for the head of a department: "mdir lbanka", "mdir l'hôpital". The plural is mdara or moudara, and the feminine is mdira (female director).
