Meanings
- please, I beg you
- thank you, God keep you
Usage
Rabbi ykhallik ("may God keep you") is the most common formula for making a polite request: rabbi ykhallik, aawenni, "please, help me". It goes before or after the request. For several people, say rabbi ykhallikom. A very close variant is Allah ykhallik. Said after a favour, it also expresses gratitude. It sounds warmer than a plain "please" in English and is used with everyone, from close ones to strangers. To insist, one can add other blessings, such as Allah yerham waldik.
