Meanings

  1. messy mixing, jumble

Usage

Tkhlat is the verbal noun of khallat / ykhallat, "to mix". The word is almost always pejorative. It can refer to an illogical mixture, for example eating sweet and salty things one after the other. With el hedra, it targets disjointed or inappropriate talk: tkhlat fel hedra. It also describes meddling in other people's business and creating trouble; in this sense it is close to "stirring up trouble". It is often found in reproaches such as barka men tkhlat ("stop mixing everything up, stop your nonsense").
