Usage
Third person masculine singular imperfective form of the verb "qal" (to say). It is used to report speech, often followed directly by the quotation with no conjunction: "yqoul rani ji" (he says he's coming). It can also express an opinion or impression: "yqoul hadi saha" (it seems this is true). In pious formulas, "li yqoul" refers to the person who utters an invocation. The feminine is "tqoul", the plural "yqoulou". In regions where q is pronounced g, one hears "ygoul".
