yet3acher يتعاشر
Algerian Darja · verb
“yet3acher” (يتعاشر) is a verb in Algerian Darja meaning pleasant to associate with.
Meanings
- pleasant to associate with
- reliable, good company
Usage
Yet3acher is said of a person you can live with, work with or keep up a relationship with without problems: someone decent, loyal and easy to live with. The verb is used mainly to judge someone's character, and very often in the negative: "ma yet3acherch" (you can't associate with him, he's impossible to live with). Common, informal register. Note: although it is a verb form, the meaning is close to an English adjective ("sociable", "good to be around"). It does not mean "to associate with" in the active sense, which is expressed instead by 3acher.
Example
هاد الراجل ما يتعاشرش
had rajel ma yet3acherch
“This man is impossible to live with; you can't associate with him.”
