Usage
Yreyya7 is the imperfect form ("he rests") of the verb rayya7. It is the ordinary verb for resting after an effort or a day of work: rani nreyya7 ("I'm resting"). It is also used for "to sit down" or "to lie down": rayya7 ("sit down, make yourself comfortable"). It can also mean "to stay" somewhere. In the imperative, depending on the tone, it also means "stop", "calm down", "drop it". The transitive form (yreyya7 l'galb, "it soothes the heart") is used to talk about what brings relief. Do not confuse it with ra7, "to leave".
