Meanings

Usage
Ykhayyer is the imperfective of "khayyer" (to choose). It is the usual verb for choosing among several options: "khayyer wach t7ebb" (choose what you want), "ana li nkhayyer" (I'm the one who chooses). It takes a direct object, with no preposition. It is often used to stress freedom of choice: "kol wa7ed ykhayyer" (everyone chooses). The register is neutral and it is used everywhere. The passive form "tkhayyer" is rarer. It should not be confused with "khir" (better, good).
