Moroccan Darija · noun
“bttana” (بطانة) is a noun in Moroccan Darija meaning tanned sheepskin.
Meanings

Usage
BTTana first means the sheepskin with its wool, dried and tanned, which is kept after Eid al-Adha to make a rug or a seat cover. In the days after the festival, families can be seen salting and drying the bTTanat on rooftops. The word is also used, in sewing vocabulary, for the inner lining of a garment or jacket. Context is enough to tell the two senses apart. Plural: bTTanat. Not to be confused with bTTaniya, which means a blanket.
