dyawlha دياولها
Moroccan Darija · pronoun
“dyawlha” (دياولها) is a pronoun in Moroccan Darija meaning her (plural noun).
Meanings
- her (plural noun)
- hers
Usage
Dyawlha is the plural form of dyalha. It is used when the thing possessed is plural: lhwayej dyawlha, "her things". It is the number of the thing possessed that triggers the plural, not the number of possessors. The form is alive, but less general than dyalha, which many speakers also use with plurals. For a learner, dyalha works everywhere. Still, you should recognise dyawlha, which is heard especially in more traditional or regional speech.
