Usage
Forno refers to the domestic kitchen oven. It is an adapted loanword, especially common in northern Morocco, where one says for example dkhel lkhobz l-forno ("put the bread in the oven"). Elsewhere, one also hears lfour, borrowed from French. It should not be confused with lfarran, the public neighbourhood oven where bread and dishes to be baked were traditionally taken. The word is almost always used with the article (lforno) and belongs to ordinary household vocabulary.
