“ghalat” (غلط) is a noun in Moroccan Darija meaning mistake, error.

Meanings

  1. mistake, error
  2. wrong, wrongly

Usage

Ghalaṭ means a mistake or an error: had chi ghalaṭ, "it's a mistake, it's wrong". It is very often used as an adverb after a verb: fhemt ghalaṭ, "I misunderstood"; ktebti ghalaṭ, "you wrote it wrong". Do not confuse it with the verb ghleṭ, "to make a mistake" (ghleṭt, "I made a mistake"). Do not confuse it either with the participle ghalṭ, "in the wrong": rak ghalṭ fiya, "you're wrong about me". The plural aghlaṭ, "mistakes", is used in particular for spelling mistakes.
