Usage
Golu is the plural imperative of the verb gal / igul, "to say". It is addressed to several people, or in some regions to a single person out of politeness. It is often followed by the preposition l-: golu lih ("tell him"), golu liya ("tell me"). Be careful not to confuse it with galu, with a long a, which means "they said". In arabizi, the q is generally written g or 9, depending on whether the speaker pronounces [g] or [q]. The [g] pronunciation dominates in most regions.
