Moroccan Darija · noun

“larb3” (لاربع) is a noun in Moroccan Darija meaning Wednesday.

Meanings

  1. Wednesday

Usage

Larb3 is the word for Wednesday. It is most often used after nhar: nhar larb3 (“Wednesday”, “on Wednesdays”). To place it in time, add lli fat (“last”) or jjay (“next”): larb3 lli fat, larb3 jjay. It is also combined with a time of day: nhar larb3 f sba7, nhar larb3 bl3chiya. Like the other days, it carries the article l- in a fixed form. Do not confuse it with rb3a, “four”: Wednesday is the “fourth” day counting from Sunday. In a souk context, it can also refer to the weekly Wednesday market.
