Medded is used mainly to extend a period of time: medded lcontra, medded lwiza, medded lmohla (the deadline). It can also mean to lengthen something physically, for example medded rjlik, "stretch out your legs". The reflexive form tmedded means "to lie down, stretch out" to rest.
