Moroccan Darija · adjective
“mlih” (مليح) is an adjective in Moroccan Darija meaning good, of good quality.
Meanings
- good, of good quality
- well, properly
Usage
Mlih means "good" or "well." In most of Morocco the usual word is mzyan; mlih is more frequent in the Oriental region (Oujda) and is understood elsewhere. As an adjective it agrees: mlih for the masculine, mliha for the feminine, mlah for the plural. Used after a verb, it takes on an adverbial sense: "well, properly." It also appears in phrases like "ach yjik mlih," "whatever suits you." The register is informal and neutral. Anyone who hears both mlih and mzyan should know they mean the same thing: the choice depends mainly on the speaker's region.
