Usage

Naḍariya is a standard Arabic word commonly used in darija. It is found mostly in educated registers: school, debates, discussions about science or conspiracies. In conversation, it often serves to downplay an idea: hadi ghir naḍariya, "it's only a theory". It is readily contrasted with the concrete using f lwaqi3, "in reality". The plural is naḍariyat.
