Meanings
- order, organization
- system, regime

Usage
Niḍam, often written with ض in darija, means the order or organization of something, and more broadly a system. It is heard in phrases like "ma kayn la niḍam la walou" ("there is no organization at all") or for an established way of working: "niḍam dyal l9raya" ("the school system"). In a more formal register, influenced by Standard Arabic, it also means the political regime. For order in the sense of tidiness, tertib is used instead. The variants nidam and nizam are common in writing.
