Moroccan Darija · noun
“ntisar” (نتصار) is a noun in Moroccan Darija meaning victory.
Meanings
- victory
- triumph, success
Usage
NtiSar (often lintiṣar with the article) means "victory". It is used a lot in sport, notably for the national team, but also in politics, in court or in personal struggles. The corresponding verb is ntaṣer, "to prevail" (kayntaṣer 3la, "to triumph over"). The register is somewhat formal, that of sports commentary and newspapers. In casual conversation, for a match, rbe7 ("to win") or rebḥa ("a win") is used instead. Ntisar suits an important victory, presented with emphasis.
