rffeh رفّه

Moroccan Darija · verb

“rffeh” (رفّه) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning to treat oneself, indulge.

Meanings

  1. to treat oneself, indulge
  2. to pamper someone, put at ease
  3. to smile on someone (life)

Usage

Rffeh is almost always used with the preposition 3la. Rffeh 3la rasu means "to treat oneself, to relax, to give oneself a good time": it is said of someone who goes out, travels or buys something after a difficult period. With another object, rffeh 3la flan means "to pamper someone, to make them happy". One also hears life as the subject, when it finally smiles on someone. The register is informal and warm. Note: it does not mean "to entertain" in the sense of a show. For that sense, one rather says nešša or uses other expressions.
