sne3 صنع
Moroccan Darija · verb
“sne3” (صنع) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning to make, to manufacture.
Meanings
- to make, to manufacture
- to invent, to create
Usage
Sne3 (perfective sna3, imperfective yesne3) means to make an object by hand or in a craft manner: a piece of furniture, a tool, a dish, a machine. The verb keeps a nuance of skill, which sets it apart from dar (to do, make) or sawweb (to prepare, to fix up), which are more common in conversation. It takes the made object directly, and often li- for the beneficiary (sne3 lik). The participle masnou3 means "made, manufactured". Beware of the form tsenna3: it means "to pretend, to feign" and has nothing to do with making things.
