Meanings

Usage
Terjman refers to a person who translates, especially orally: someone who acts as an intermediary between two people who do not speak the same language. It is related to the verb trjem (to translate). You hear it, for example, for someone accompanying tourists, or for a relative who translates during an administrative procedure: "kan howa t-terjman dyali". In a more formal or professional register, mutarjim is also used. Jokingly, you can call someone terjman if they explain what another person meant.
