tgoulou تقولوا
Moroccan Darija · verb
“tgoulou” (تقولوا) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning you (plural) say.
Meanings
- you (plural) say
Usage
Tgoulou is the second person plural of the imperfective of gal (to say). It is used for several addressees, with no gender distinction. It is also used to address a single person politely, but this usage is less frequent than in French. It is found after bghitou (you want), ghadi (future) or with the prefix ka-: katgoulou, "you say, you usually say". It should not be confused with the perfective form goltou, "you said". The q is pronounced g in most regions, hence spellings with g or 9.
Example
شنو بغيتو تقولو ليه؟
chnou bghitou tgoulou lih?
“What do you want to tell him?”
