“twil” (طويل) is an adjective in Moroccan Darija meaning long.

Meanings

  1. long
  2. tall
  3. lengthy, long-lasting

Usage

Ṭwil is used both for "long" and for "tall": it applies equally to an object, a road or hair, and to a person. The feminine is ṭwila and the plural is ṭwal. It is also used for duration: nhar ṭwil, "a long day". The comparative is formed with ṭwel followed by men: ṭwel mennu, "taller than him". Pitfall: do not use kbir for height; kbir means "big, old", not "tall". The opposite is qṣir.
