Meanings

  1. to agree, to accept
  2. to suit, to agree with

Usage

Wafe9 is mostly constructed with 3la: wafe9 3la chi haja, "to accept something, to give one's agreement". It is used for a request, a proposal or a marriage. Used alone, it means "to agree". The verb can also mean "to suit" or "to go with": ma wafe9nich, "it doesn't suit me". This sense applies notably to a food, a climate or a situation. The conjugation is regular: wafe9, wafqat, wafqu. The register is standard, and the word is a little more formal than the expression bgha, "to be willing".
