wazen وازن
Moroccan Darija · verb
“wazen” (وازن) is a verb in Moroccan Darija meaning to balance, reconcile.
Meanings
- to balance, reconcile
- to weigh up, compare
Usage
Waazen is used mainly in the construction waazen bin… w…: finding the balance between two obligations or two things, such as studies and work, or family and friends. The complement introduced by bin ("between") is almost always expressed. The verb is also used for weighing the pros and cons before a decision. Do not confuse it with wzen, "to weigh" in the literal sense (on a scale): waazen keeps an abstract sense of balance. The word is in the everyday register and presents no difficulty of use.
Example
نتحداك ت وازن بين ڭاع لمسؤوليات لي عندك
nt7edak t waazen bin ga3 lmes2ouliyat li 3endek
