ziti زيتي
Moroccan Darija · adjective
“ziti” (زيتي) is an adjective in Moroccan Darija meaning olive green (color).
Meanings
- olive green (color)
- oily, made with oil
Usage
Adjective derived from zit (oil). It mainly refers to a color, olive green or khaki, for a garment, paint or a car. It is used after the noun, often in lon ziti (olive-green color). It agrees in gender and number: ziti (masculine), zitiya (feminine), zitiyin (plural). The sense "oily" exists but is rarer. Beware of the Arabic spelling: in a sentence like "rak zitti fih", the same written word is actually a colloquial verb form meaning "you overdid it". It is then no longer the adjective.
Example
لون زيتي ماكيعجبنيش
lon ziti maky3jbnich
“I don't like the olive green color.”
