3adech عدش
Tunisian Derja · adverb
“3adech” (عدش) is an adverb in Tunisian Derja meaning no longer (with ma).
Meanings
- no longer (with ma)
- don't … anymore (prohibition, without ma)
Usage
3adech is a form of "3ad" (again, still) followed by the negation "-ch". It is normally used with "ma": "ma 3adech" goes before the verb and means "no longer". It is also heard in the form "ma 3adech + pronoun", for example "ma 3adech nest7a99ou" (I no longer need it). In fast spoken language, and often in online writing, "ma" drops, especially for a prohibition: "3adech t3awedha" (don't do it again). Do not confuse it with "ba3d" (after).
Example
ما عادش نشرب القهوة بالليل
ma 3adech nochrob el9ahwa bellil
“I no longer drink coffee at night.”
