9blouch قبلوش
Tunisian Derja · verb
“9blouch” (قبلوش) is a verb in Tunisian Derja meaning they did not accept.
Meanings
- they did not accept
- they don't accept (yet)
Usage
Qbelouch is a conjugated form, not a base word. It comes from the verb qbel (to accept), in the third person plural past, wrapped in the Tunisian negation ma… ch. It is therefore almost always preceded by ma: "ma qbelouch", "they did not accept". The expression is used for a refused request, invitation or file, and also in the sense of admitting an idea. With mazalou in front, it means "they still don't accept". Note that the final -ch is not a pronoun: it belongs to the negation. Don't confuse it with qbelouh (they accepted him/it), where -h marks the object.
Example
قدّمت الملف أما ما قبلوش.
9addemt el dossier ama ma 9blouch.
“I submitted the file, but they didn't accept it.”
