ba3dh بعض
Tunisian Derja · pronoun
“ba3dh” (بعض) is a pronoun in Tunisian Derja meaning each other, one another.
Meanings
- each other, one another
- some, a few
Usage
Ba3dh is used mainly with a suffixed pronoun to express reciprocity: ba3dhna (each other, among ourselves), ba3dhkom, ba3dhhom. Several expressions are very frequent: m3a ba3dhna (together), kif ba3dhhom (all alike, all the same), 9odem ba3dhhom (face to face). Before a noun, ba3dh means "some, a few", as in ba3dh enness. This use is more formal and is found mostly in the media or in speeches. Colloquial speech prefers chwaya or constructions with fama. Be careful not to confuse it with ba3d, "after", which has no final dh.
Example
كلّهم كيف بعضهم
Kolhom kif be3adhhom
“They're all the same.”
