Meanings

Usage
Barra is very common. Placed before another verb in the imperative, it means "go ahead, go": "barra ekri karhba" (go rent a car), "barra jarreb" (go ahead, try). It can encourage someone or push them to act. Used alone or in a curt tone, "barra!" means "get out!" and can be hurtful. As an adverb, barra means "outside": "ostor barra" (wait outside), and also "abroad": "yekhdem barra" (he works abroad). For the feminine and the plural, the imperative often stays barra, but "barrou" is also heard.
