Meanings

Usage

Bda means "to begin". It is conjugated bdit, bdina, yebda, nebda, and the imperative is ebda. Followed by an imperfect verb, it expresses the start of an action: "bda yebki" (he started crying). Note: bda can also mean "to appear" in Standard Arabic, but in derja this sense is rare; it almost always means "to begin".
