bekrika بكريكا

Tunisian Derja · adverb

“bekrika” (بكريكا) is an adverb in Tunisian Derja meaning a moment ago, a little while ago.

Meanings

  1. a moment ago, a little while ago

Usage

Bekrika is a typically Tunisian adverb. It refers to a recent moment in the past, generally the same day: "earlier", "a while ago". It is therefore used with a verb in the past: bekrika kallemtek (I called you earlier). It refers only to the past, never to the future. For a near moment to come, ba3d chwaya is used instead. It should also not be confused with bekri, which means "formerly" or "early".

Example

بكريكا قلتلك ما نجمش نجي

bekrika 9otlek ma nnajjamch nji

“I told you earlier that I couldn't come.”
