Usage
Bet (imperfect yebet) means "to spend the night" somewhere, most often at someone's home or away from home. It is constructed with 3and or b7adha, "at": betna 3and khalti, "we slept at my aunt's." It does not simply mean "to sleep," which is ra9ed. Bet stresses spending the night in a particular place. It is also used for things: el makla betet, "the dish spent the night." Do not confuse it with the noun bit, "room, bedroom." The causative bayet means "to put someone up for the night, to host."
