“boghdh” (بغض) is a noun in Tunisian Derja meaning hatred, aversion.
Meanings
- hatred, aversion
Usage
Boghdh means hatred or a strong aversion toward someone. It belongs to the family of the verb boghdh / nboghdhou, "to hate". It is found in expressions like fih boghdh, "there is hatred in him", or 3andou boghdh 3lih, "he holds a grudge against him, he hates him". The register is somewhat formal. To say "I hate him", the verb is preferred (nekrhou, nboghdhou). Pitfall: the phrase bighadh en-nadhar, "regardless of", is borrowed from standard Arabic and has nothing to do with hatred. It should not be confused with this noun.
