Usage
Byesa is an adapted borrowing from French "pièce", very common in everyday speech. It is first used to count objects: bel byesa (per piece), qaddech el byesa ? (how much per piece?). At the mechanic's or repair shop, it means a spare part: el byesa mouch mawjouda (the part is not available). The common plural is byesèt. Note: it does not refer to a room of a house, which is rather bit, nor to a play. The register is informal and neutral, understood everywhere.
Example
