“chreb” (شرب) is a verb in Tunisian Derja meaning to drink.

  2. to smoke (a cigarette)

Usage

Chreb means "he drank". The other forms are chrebt (I drank) and chorbet (she drank). The imperfect is yochrob and the imperative ochrob. The object follows the verb directly: chreb kès mè. As in other Arabic dialects, it is also used for smoking: yochrob doukhan, "he smokes". Used on its own, it can imply alcohol: howa yochrob, "he drinks". Context shows whether alcohol is meant.
