Usage
Dakhli means "internal" or "inner". It belongs mainly to a formal register, that of administration and the media. It appears in ennidham eddakhli, "the internal regulations", or in ta79i9 dakhli, "an internal investigation". About a region, the word contrasts the interior of the country with the coast: the inland cities. In everyday conversation, a construction with dakhel, "inside", is often preferred. The feminine is dakhliya, a word that is also used colloquially for the Ministry of the Interior.
