fare7 فارح
Tunisian Derja · adjective
“fare7” (فارح) is an adjective in Tunisian Derja meaning joyful, happy.
Meanings
- joyful, happy
Usage
Fareh means "joyful, happy". In everyday conversation, Tunisians more often use fer7ane for "happy" (ena fer7ane, "I am happy"). Fareh appears rather in greeting formulas, morning messages, proverbs and rhymed texts, where it goes well with words like sare7 or el bare7. The feminine is far7a. It describes a person, a heart or a day: galbek fareh, "may your heart be joyful". The register is therefore a bit more formal or poetic than fer7ane. In an ordinary sentence, fer7ane sounds more natural.
Example
إن شاء الله ديما قلبك فارح
nchallah dima galbek fare7
“God willing, your heart will always be joyful.”
