fech فاش
Tunisian Derja · pronoun
“fech” (فاش) is a pronoun in Tunisian Derja meaning in what, about what.
Meanings
- in what, about what
- what (are you doing)
Usage
Fech comes from the contraction of fi ech, literally "in what." It is a very common interrogative. It is used to ask what someone is thinking about or busy with: fech tkhammem? (what are you thinking about?), fech 9a3ed ta3mel? (what are you doing?). It is also used to ask what someone is waiting for: fech testanna?, "what are you waiting for?" This last use is often an impatient urging to act. Do not confuse it with ech or chnowa, which simply mean "what." Fech always carries the idea of "in" or "about."

فاش تخمّم توّا؟
fech t5ammem tawa?
