fom فم

Tunisian Derja · noun

“fom” (فم) is a noun in Tunisian Derja meaning mouth.

Meanings

  1. mouth
  2. opening (of a bag, well)

Usage

Fomm means the mouth. It appears in many expressions: "khtafha men fommi", literally "he snatched it out of my mouth", means that someone said exactly what I wanted to say. "Sakker fommek" means "shut up". The main pitfall is in writing: without vowels, the same spelling very often stands for "famma", that is, "there is". Only context distinguishes the two. The possessive is formed on "fomm": fommi (my mouth), fommou (his mouth).
