Usage

Forma is a loanword adapted from French "forme", very common in speech. It is used mainly in sport and health: "fi forma" means "in shape, in good condition". The word is frequent in comments about a team or a player, and about a person who is doing well. It is also used for the shape of an object or the features of a face, for example for the look of a haircut or a silhouette. The word is feminine, as in French. It is used with the preposition "fi" rather than with a verb as in French: you don't say "to be in forma" but "fi forma".
